— Our Story —

Rooted in compassion

Founded by Julie Valette, RN — nearly 20 years of clinical experience across oncology, emergency care, palliative care, and long-term care settings in both Canada and the United States.

The Healthcare Atelier was built on a single conviction: families navigating aging, illness, and end-of-life deserve more than a system that wasn't designed for them. They deserve a clinical guide, a clear framework, and someone who has already walked these corridors.

Our practice is nurse-led, cross-border, and unapologetically direct. We don't trade in false reassurance ——we trade in clarity, structure, and confident decision-making.

— Why We Exist —

“Families don't struggle because support doesn't exist. They struggle because…

NO ONE SHOWS THEM HOW TO USE THE SYSTEM ‍

The Healthcare Atelier bridges the gap between clinical reality, legal authority, and family decision-making — before a crisis forces the conversation.”

Navigate Together

We walk alongside you through every step. From complex medical decisions to system navigation — we translate clinical language, advocate at the bedside, and make sure you understand every fork in the road.

03

Honor Dignity

At the heart of everything we do is a profound respect for the dignity of every person — patient, family member, and caregiver alike. Our care is always compassionate, unhurried, and deeply human.

The Problem & The Reality…

You Can Be Standing at the Bedside — and Still Not Be Allowed to Decide.

  • Families of aging adults are routinely required to make high-stakes decisions without adequate clinical guidance.

  • Caregiver burnout, delayed care transitions, and fragmented decision-making are the predictable result.

  • Without the right legal authority documents, you may not be permitted to speak to the care team — regardless of your relationship.

  • The healthcare system has a process. It does not pause for unprepared families

“Most Families don't find out they're unprepared until it is too late.”
