— Our Story —

Rooted in compassion

Founded by Julie Valette, RN — nearly 20 years of clinical experience across long-term care, emergency care, palliative care, and oncology settings in both Canada and the United States.

The Healthcare Atelier was built on a single conviction: families navigating aging, illness, and end-of-life deserve more than a system that wasn't designed for them. They deserve a clinical guide, a clear framework, and someone who has already walked these corridors.

Our practice is nurse-led, cross-border, and unapologetically direct. We don't trade in false reassurance ——we trade in clarity, structure, and confident decision-making.

— Why We Exist —

Families don't struggle because support doesn't exist. They struggle because… NO ONE SHOWS THEM HOW TO USE THE SYSTEM ‍

The Healthcare Atelier bridges the gap between clinical reality, legal authority, and family decision-making before a crisis forces the conversation.

Our Philosophy

I do not believe healthcare professionals don't care.

Most healthcare professionals care deeply.

They are also working inside systems that are strained, overburdened, and often impossible to fully explain to every family the way families deserve.

The Healthcare Atelier exists in that gap.

We help families understand what is happening, ask better questions, organize the next steps, and advocate with confidence without turning advocacy into confrontation.

"The best advocate in the room isn't the loudest. It's the one who came prepared."

— Julie Valette, RN

Every family deserves someone in their corner.

Whether you are preparing before a crisis, navigating a hospital stay, or trying to understand what comes next, we exist to help you move forward with clarity.
